DESCRIPTION:We invite you to participate:  Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative (Blue Sunday) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with two goals: 1) Meet the needs of abused children\, 2) To raise awareness among the faith community through our annual National Blue Sunday Day of Prayer for Abused Children which is always the last Sunday of April which is child abuse prevention month. \n\nNational Blue Sunday Day of Prayer for Abused Children began in 1994 with 20 churches but has grown to include over 7.4 million participants on 5 continents. All we asked is for churches to take a moment during their service to pray for abused children and for those who rescue them. It's free. Nothing to join. We do ask that everyone who participates register to monitor our effectiveness.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\nApril is Child Abuse Prevention Month.\n\nSTATISTICS:\n\nOver 1600 children die annually as victims of child abuse\n\nMost under the age of 3\n\nMost victims of neglect\n\nMost boys\n\nMost deaths caused by family members\n\n6 million children become NEW victims of abuse annually\n\nTwo-thirds of those in drug treatment reported being abused as a child\n\n80% of the prison population were once in foster care\n\nWithin one year of aging out of foster care 66% will be homeless\, in jail or die\n\n\n\nhttp://www.bluesunday.org/
